Share your blessings this Thanksgiving

Just $2.50 can help put a warm meal on the table for someone who might otherwise go hungry.

What if the most meaningful place at your Thanksgiving table belonged to someone you've never met?

Someone who doesn't know where their next meal will come from. A mother wondering how she'll feed her children. A senior adult spending another holiday alone. Or someone experiencing homelessness who would give almost anything for a warm meal and a place where they feel welcome.

While many of us are planning Thanksgiving dinner, making grocery lists, and looking forward to time with family, others in our community are facing a very different reality.

They're not wondering whether to have pumpkin or pecan pie.

They're wondering whether they'll have anything to eat at all.

At Providence Ministries, we believe nobody should have to face hunger alone, especially during Thanksgiving.

And for just $2.50, you can help make a difference.

Thanksgiving Isn't a Happy Holiday for Everyone

Think about what makes Thanksgiving special.

It's not just the turkey, dressing, or pumpkin pie. It's being together. It's laughter around the table, familiar faces, and the feeling that you belong somewhere.

Now imagine having none of that.

For someone experiencing homelessness, hunger, or financial hardship, Thanksgiving can be a painful reminder of everything that's missing.

Maybe it's a parent who lost a job and is struggling to pay rent. Maybe it's a family living paycheck to paycheck, trying to decide between groceries and keeping the lights on.

Or perhaps it's someone who has lost everything and simply needs to know that somebody still cares.

These aren't just stories we hear about somewhere else.

These are people right here in our community.

And they need more than our sympathy. They need our help.

A Warm Meal Can Mean So Much More

Every day, Providence Ministries opens its doors to people who are hungry and hurting.

Through our Bread of Life Diner, we provide three free meals a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

No questions asked. No judgment. Just a warm meal, a welcoming place, and people who care.

But during Thanksgiving, something about sharing a meal becomes even more meaningful.

Imagine walking through the doors after a difficult day and being greeted with a smile.

You sit down to a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, dressing, all the trimmings, and pumpkin pie.

For a little while, you don't have to worry about where your next meal will come from.

Someone asks how you're doing. Someone listens. Someone treats you like you matter.

And maybe, for the first time in a long time, you feel a little hope.

That's what your generosity makes possible.

Because sometimes feeding someone isn't just about filling an empty stomach. It's about reminding them that they haven't been forgotten.

You Can Make Thanksgiving Special for Just $2.50

Here's something we hope you'll think about as you prepare for Thanksgiving.

For less than the price of a cup of coffee, you can help provide a Thanksgiving meal for someone in need.

$10 can help provide 4 meals.

$25 can help provide 10 meals.

$50 can help provide 20 meals.

$100 can help provide 40 meals.

$250 can help provide 100 meals.

Think about the difference your gift could make.

A mother could sit down with her children and enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner without worrying about how she'll pay for it.

Someone experiencing homelessness could enjoy a warm meal instead of facing another hungry evening.

A lonely senior adult could find a friendly face and a place to belong.

You may never meet the person who receives that meal. You may never hear their story.

But your kindness could become one of the brightest moments of their Thanksgiving.

Hunger Doesn't End When Thanksgiving Is Over

One of the things that makes Providence Ministries special is that our commitment to helping people doesn't end when the holiday decorations come down.

Hunger doesn't take weekends off. Homelessness doesn't disappear after Thanksgiving. And families facing hardship still need help long after the holiday season.

That's why Providence Ministries continues serving people throughout the year through our community kitchen, homeless shelters, recovery programs, and other outreach ministries.

Your generosity helps support a mission that reaches beyond a single holiday.

It's about meeting people where they are, helping them through difficult circumstances, and offering encouragement for a better tomorrow.

There's More Than One Way to Share Your Blessings

Maybe you'd love to help, but making a financial donation isn't possible right now.

You can still make a difference!

Consider giving your time through volunteer opportunities, encouraging your church, Sunday School class, civic group, school, or workplace to support hunger relief, or inviting friends and family to join you in giving.

You could even make helping others part of your family's Thanksgiving tradition.

What a wonderful way to teach our children that being thankful isn't just about appreciating what we have. It's also about sharing what we've been given.

Sometimes the greatest blessing comes from being a blessing to someone else.

Sharing God's Love, One Meal at a Time

At Providence Ministries, our heart for helping people comes from our faith in Jesus Christ.

In Matthew 25:35, Jesus said:

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me."

We believe those words are just as important today as when Jesus first spoke them.

Every meal served is an opportunity to show compassion. Every person welcomed is someone created in God's image. Every act of generosity is an opportunity to share His love in a practical way.

And when you give to Providence Ministries, you become part of that mission.

This Thanksgiving, Will You Help Us Set Another Place at the Table?

As you gather with family and friends this Thanksgiving, we hope your table is filled with good food, laughter, and wonderful memories.

But before the holiday arrives, would you consider helping someone whose table might otherwise be empty?

For just $2.50, you can help provide a warm Thanksgiving meal and remind someone that they matter.

You don't have to change the whole world.

You can start by changing someone's Thanksgiving.

And together, we can make sure more of our neighbors experience the warmth, kindness, and hope that make this season so special.

To learn more about our mission, explore Providence Ministries, discover our programs, or contact us about ways to get involved. You can also support the outreach of Providence Ministries by donating and purchasing through Providence Thrift Stores and Providence Home Furnishings.

This Thanksgiving, let's do more than give thanks for our blessings. Let's share them.
